About the Summit

The Alberta Energy Efficiency Alliance (AEEA) and Smart Sustainable Resilient Infrastructure Association (SSRIA) are partners bringing together leaders in energy efficiency and building innovation for the province’s largest conference dedicated to advancing the adoption of energy efficiency and innovative solutions to reduce the carbon impact of our built environment.

The conference builds momentum on successful past multi-day conferences since 2018 by the AEEA as well as information-rich webinars hosted by SSRIA and a joint conference from 2022 - 2024. These events offered attendees a forum to collaborate, learn, network, and receive insight into the latest trends in energy efficiency deployment and innovative technology, products, and processes for buildings of all types.

Whether you are a seasoned professional or just starting out in the industry, this event is perfect for anyone looking to stay ahead of the curve and make a positive impact on the environment. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to connect and collaborate with like-minded individuals and gain valuable insights to drive change in the energy sector. See you there!

Pre-Summit Tour: Avalon Homes in Seton

The Avalon Seton Townsite is a purpose-built, multi-family rental development demonstrating how Net Zero–aligned performance can be delivered at scale using modular construction. Developed by Avalon Master Builder in partnership with Big Block Modular, the project integrates high-performance building science with factory-built delivery to address housing demand, energy efficiency, and construction labour constraints.

What You Will See

  • A fully executed modular multi-family development from site assembly to commissioning
  • Integration of factory-built modules with foundations, utilities, and site infrastructure
  • Standardized high-performance envelopes and mechanical systems
  • Quality control advantages achieved through off-site manufacturing
  • Conutruction sequencing that reduces weather exposure and on-site labour requirements

Pre-Summit Tour: Behind the Materials: How ZS2 Is Rethinking Building Performance From the Inside Out

Join us for an onsite tour inside ZS2 Technologies’ manufacturing facility, where material science, offsite construction, and climate-resilient design come together. This behind-the-scenes tour explores how ZS2 develops and manufactures magnesium cement–based panelized building systems that are changing how we think about efficiency, durability, and risk in the built environment.

The tour draws from recent real-world performance lessons, including a ZS2 panelized project in northern Manitoba that made national headlines after withstanding a wildfire. We’ll unpack what that kind of performance actually means at the material and manufacturing level, and how those insights translate into smarter, more efficient construction solutions designed to last longer, perform better, and reduce uncertainty for builders, owners, and communities.

What attendees will get out of this tour
  • A behind-the-scenes view of how advanced building materials are manufactured at scale in Alberta
  • Insight into how wildfire performance data is informing next-generation material and panel design
  • A practical look at panelized construction as a tool for improving on-site efficiency, manufacturing consistency, and long-term durability
  • Direct access to the ZS2 team for technical questions and real-world discussion
