Olivier Cappon is Senior Director with the Canadian Institute for Energy Training (CIET). He leads the Institute’s engagement with governmental organisations, agencies responsible for Energy Efficiency/CDM programming, consultants, and private stakeholders to ensure that both current and aspiring professionals have access to the skills, knowledge and certifications needed to make impactful contributions in the industry.
First with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group), and now with CIET, Olivier has worked in the Sustainability and Energy Efficiency industries for over 13 years, accruing expertise in key areas of professional and organizational capability building, such as implementing learning frameworks and outcomes, program design and evaluation, supervision of content development, learning paths creation, and the setting of core competencies to fit industry needs and requirements. He has also accrued important experiences on the pragmatic side of training as an instructor and presenter on several topics related to the overarching themes in energy efficiency and decarbonization. For several years, Olivier has been involved with various committees tasked with charting and advocating for the energy and GHG management skills required to ensure job market access for individuals across Canada.
